Maersk Line is very strict when it comes to accepting IMO (hazardous cargo).

When you have IMO to ship to Australia and/or New Zealand (or The Pacific), send us the DGD (Dangerous Goods Declaration) and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) well before vessel's departure (no later than 3 workingdays before given date).

The DGD should be made up exactly as described below, as if not Maersk Line will not accept it.

Implementation of IMDG Code Amendment no. 33

Maersk Line began to implement Amendment no. 33 for all shipments arriving at destinations from 1 January 2008. This means that all dangerous cargo shipments booked on Maersk Line vessels are required to comply with the changed regulation. Customers who fail to comply with IMDG Code Amendment no. 33 may be subject to a fine from authorities.

The two check points below will be conducted by customer service teams to comply strictly with IMDG Code Amendment no. 33.

From 1st April 2008 all DGD’s should align with above two points. If they do not align, the DGD will be rejected.
