quarantine
.
the australian quarantine and inspection service (aqis) in australia and the ministry of
agriculture & forestry (maf) in new zealand have adopted a policy of keeping potential
 quarantine risks off-shore.

all timber and timber products imported into australia and new zealand are subject to
quarantine clearance, either by inspection on arrival or on presentation of acceptable
 pre-shipment fumigation certification.

apart from logs and sawn timber, the aqis and maf are concerned with crates, pallets,
cases, dunnage, skids, exposed timber, components of shipping containers and
 manufactured timber articles.

for a full scope of information with respect to this subject please visit the aqis website
 and/or the maf website.

it may be good to know anzss can arrange fumigation for you, overseas.
if you are interested, please ask for our options and rates.

 TIP:
we note a growing number of exporters are using plastic pallets instead of wooden
pallets, thus avoiding a lot of hassle...
